Responsibilities
- Build internal tools that scale Support
- Design and ship systems that Support Engineers and Support Reps rely on daily — AI drafting tools, autonomous reply systems, workflow automation, reporting dashboards
- Own projects end to end from problem identification to solution deployment
- Ship customer-facing tools that reduce ticket volume, such as self-service migration scripts and diagnostic tools
- Collaborate closely with Support Reps and Engineers to understand requirements and pain points
- Improve underlying systems and integrations across Close, Stripe, Twilio, and other parts of the stack
- Experiment and prototype new approaches, measure impact, and ship improvements
Requirements
- 3+ years of Software Engineering experience
- Ability to write clean, production-quality code
- Degree or rigorous experience in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Fluent in Python, Rust, Go, or Typescript/Javascript
- Built information retrieval systems using semantic search / RAG
- Strong systems thinking with focus on upstream and downstream consequences
- AI-fluent: uses AI tools like Claude, Codex, Pi to increase speed but understands and can debug code
- Clear, async communicator with readable technical specs, well-documented PRs, and clear Slack messages
- Thrives in a fully remote, async-first environment
- Comfortable with autonomy: scopes own work, manages priorities, ships without heavy oversight
- Located in US time zones (ET, CT, MT, or PT)
