Velera Solutions is hiring a Software Engineer II (ADO) to aid in developing, testing, maintaining, and supporting secure, scalable, and robust applications. In this remote role, you'll modify existing code and create new medium-complexity code, focusing on learning and growing your skills while beginning to work more independently.
What You'll Do
- Develop basic to semi-complex code to maintain new and existing technology systems following company standards.
- Accountable to develop and deliver technical documentation.
- Undergo peer code and design reviews to ensure stable and high-quality production-ready code.
- Build and maintain applications that meet or exceed industry regulatory requirements.
- Foster and maintain high collaboration with team members, other technical colleagues, and business partners from across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with established SDLC frameworks, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, release management, and deployment.
- Ensure compliance with all the audit and security requirements of the company.
- Gradually take on more development tasks as learning increases.
- Participate and follow established agile standards (including attending all Agile events) to create a collaborative and efficient development environment and meet project goals and delivery dates.
- Foster innovation to improve on existing challenges and to realize new opportunities.
- Active involvement in complex projects.
- Ability to travel as needed to perform position responsibilities.
- Availability to be on-call as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, related technology field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three years professional work experience in .Net and/or Java software development required.
- One year of experience performing as a subject matter expert.
- Thorough understanding of CI/CD pipelines and standard SDLC processes.
- Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) using work items, repos, build and deployment pipelines and test plans.
- Understanding of the use of variable groups and templates.
- Knowledge of various DevOps tools such as SonarQube.
- Experience in scripting languages such as Powershell and Bash.
- Proficiency of computer engineering fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
- Ability to modify existing code and write semi-complex scripts according to standards and best practices.
- Proficiency in two or more modern programming languages.
- Beginning contribution to technical specifications and detailed design.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of coding standards and apply them.
