Wärtsilä is looking for a Software Business Analyst to act as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and the IT development team. You will analyze business processes and develop strategies to improve them through software solutions, supporting our mission to transition the world towards a decarbonised and sustainable future.
What You'll Do
- Gather and analyze comprehensive business and technical requirements from stakeholders.
- Document and translate business needs into clear technical specifications and user stories.
- Conduct gap analysis and feasibility studies to recommend improvements.
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the IT development team.
- Facilitate communication to ensure mutual understanding and alignment of expectations.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and prioritize project needs effectively.
- Support project planning, monitoring, and reporting activities to ensure timely delivery.
- Assist in the creation of project plans, timelines, and key milestones.
- Monitor project progress and proactively address any emerging issues.
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Business Analyst in software development projects, with a solid understanding of software development life cycles.
- Experience working with Agile methodologies and tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A PMP certification.
- Knowledge of the Marine Industry or Port Operations.

- Compensation: $80,000 - 90,000 CAD
