Red Rocks Community College is hiring a part-time Social Work Instructor to teach courses in various modalities. You will join the Social Sciences and Education department to deliver high-quality education and foster inclusive learning environments.
What You'll Do
- Teach Social Work courses in various modalities (in-person, hybrid, remote, hyflex, concurrent, or online).
- Conduct student assessments.
- Ensure courses meet approved outcomes and outlines.
- Apply culturally responsive education and foster inclusive learning environments.
What We're Looking For
- A Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or in an APA recognized subfield/specialty in professional psychology.
- Ability to work from campus (primarily Lakewood campus with occasional hours at Arvada campus).
- Demonstrated ability to work with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds and typically underrepresented groups.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to teach students using traditional and alternative methods of instruction.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate technology into the classroom where appropriate.
- Knowledge of computer applications.
- Knowledge of instructional objectives and course development techniques.
- Skills with managing, preparing, and delivering courses in the classroom and in the field.
- Ability to give and receive oral and written instructions and procedures.
- Some knowledge working with D2L or a similar LMS.
Nice to Have
- Fifteen (15) semester credit hours teaching experience.
- Experience with a wide range of students at the community college level or in a comparable setting.
- Experience in program and curriculum development.
- Experience teaching with technology, in alternative formats.
- Experience in at least two of the following: curriculum development.
Technical Stack
- D2L or a similar Learning Management System (LMS).
Team & Environment
You will report to the Chair of Social Sciences and Education.
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation range: $1,177.73 - $1,294.58 per credit hour.
Work Mode
This is a hybrid role. Instructors must be able to work from campus, primarily in Lakewood, CO, with occasional hours at the Arvada, CO campus.
