Montgomery County (PA) is hiring a Social Media Specialist to join its dedicated Communications Team. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the County's online presence, fostering community engagement, and promoting transparency through strategic social media management and high-quality content creation.

What You'll Do

  • Create compelling, informative, and visually appealing content for platforms including Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, LinkedIn, and NextDoor.
  • Maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent and timely delivery of posts and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to develop multimedia content.
  • Monitor and engage with the County's social media community, responding to comments and inquiries professionally and promptly.
  • Foster positive interactions with residents, businesses, and stakeholders, proactively identifying and addressing potential concerns.
  • Analyze social media metrics and generate reports to evaluate campaign effectiveness, using data-driven insights for improvements.
  • Ensure all social media activities align with County policies, guidelines, and legal requirements.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in social media management.
  • Develop content for Montgomery County Commissioners’ social media channels as requested.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • At least three to five years of proven experience in social media management and strategy, with a strong portfolio.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms.
  • Strong understanding of social media strategy, editorial calendars, and content plans.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong multitasking and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Creative, strategic, and innovative mindset with a passion for social media.

Nice to Have

  • Strong understanding of Montgomery County and its communities.

Team & Environment

You will report to the Social Media Manager within the Office of Communications.
