Sonoco is seeking a Slitter Operator for the Day Shift at our facility in Elk Grove, IL. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the setup, operation, and final inspection of core cutting and roll wrapping machines, adhering to all GMPs, PRPs, and production SOPs.
What You'll Do
- Set up and operate Core Cutting & Multiple Roll Wrapping Department Machines.
- Cut cores to size for the slitter, ensuring proper supplies for Slitting Jobs.
- Weigh plastic rolls and label them properly when roll wrapping.
- Palletize rolls and deliver them to the finished goods area.
- Follow GMPs, PRPs, and production SOPs.
- Provide break relief as a backup to the Slitter Operator.
- Conduct final inspection of rolls according to the Final Inspection procedure.
- Apply Allergen Control requirements during the slitting of Combo jobs.
- Handle paperwork and administrative duties.
- Report all unsafe acts, conditions, and Food Safety violations to management immediately.
- Follow all safety rules.
- Perform all other duties assigned by the manager.

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation: $21.10/hr
