The Town of Greenwich is hiring a Skate Park Instructor/Guard to ensure a safe and welcoming environment at our community skate park. In this role, you will directly supervise park activity, enforce safety rules, and teach skateboarding lessons to the public.
What You'll Do
- Ensure all participants are skateboarding safely and following park rules.
- Consistently monitor for unsafe conditions, rope off unsafe equipment, and report issues.
- Teach assigned skateboarding lessons consistently as developed by the Department.
- Always wear a helmet and pads when teaching, guarding, or skating.
- Attend to all injuries and follow established procedures.
- Pick up trash or debris during your shift.
- Conduct a safety inspection of all equipment at the start of your shift and clean the park surface.
- Complete required reports (equipment checklist, attendance, pad inventory) and submit them to the Skate Park Coordinator.
- Provide customer service by answering public questions about hours, lessons, and other inquiries.
- Arrive on-time, preferably 15 minutes before your scheduled shift.
- Attend staff meetings and scheduled trainings.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Enjoy working with the public.
- Have a demonstrated understanding of skateboarding.
- Possess above-average skateboarding skills.
- Have a good working knowledge of how to teach children to skate.
- Be CPR and First Aid trained.
Team & Environment
You will report directly to the Skate Park Coordinator.

This is an onsite position located in Greenwich, CT.
