Sikichcareers is adding a Tax Manager specializing in not-for-profit organizations to the team. Reporting to a Principal, you will lead client engagements, provide strategic tax advice, and serve as a primary contact for nonprofit clients.
What You'll Do
- Lead the preparation and review of federal and state tax filings for exempt organizations, including Forms 990, 990‑T, and 990‑PF.
- Advise nonprofit clients on complex tax matters such as UBIT, public support testing, and charitable contribution requirements.
- Interpret and apply evolving tax law to unique nonprofit issues, staying current on developments impacting the exempt organization sector.
- Manage end‑to‑end client engagements, including planning, execution, quality review, billing, and scope management.
- Serve as a primary client contact, building trusted relationships and partnering across Sikich service lines to deliver integrated solutions.
- Coach and develop associates and senior associates through ongoing feedback and hands‑on mentorship.
- Support practice growth through proposal support, client presentations, and participation in thought leadership or speaking opportunities.
What We're Looking For
- BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or EA certification (or progress towards certification).
- 5+ years of current public accounting experience.
- Proficiency with computerized tax software and MS Office.
- Strong client rapport and project management skills.
- Supervisory experience.
- A flexible schedule and the ability to service multiple client engagements simultaneously.
- Strong communication (verbal and written) skills with the emphasis on ability to articulate complex tax and financial information to all levels of clients.

- MST (or willingness to obtain).

- The midpoint of the salary range is $131,250.37.
