What You'll Do
Oversee daily shift activities at the Smethwick facility, ensuring operations run safely, efficiently, and in alignment with production targets. You will take ownership of team performance, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations by maintaining up-to-date risk assessments and safe systems of work. Evaluate contractor documentation, including method statements, insurance, and qualifications, to confirm adherence to site standards.
Partner with maintenance teams to schedule and monitor preventative maintenance tasks, minimizing equipment downtime and improving operational reliability. Work closely with site leadership and cross-functional teams to support broader business objectives and drive productivity gains.
Requirements
You bring proven experience in supervising teams within an industrial or manufacturing setting. Your ability to set clear goals, track performance, and deliver results is well established.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you’ll be responsible for influencing stakeholders and building effective working relationships. You demonstrate a commitment to personal and professional development, with solid organizational abilities and proficiency in standard IT applications.
Preferred Qualifications
A background in manufacturing or engineering is beneficial. Prior experience in packaging, printing, or fast-moving consumer goods adds further value to your application.

Work Mode
This is an onsite role located in Birmingham – Smethwick. The position follows a rotating shift pattern: Week 1 includes Monday to Thursday from 06:00 to 14:00, with Friday ending at 13:00. Week 2 shifts run Monday to Thursday from 14:00 to 22:00, and Friday from 13:00 to 20:00.
