Wabtec Locomotive Private Limited is hiring a Service Technical Manager to provide critical leadership and technical guidance for locomotive maintenance operations in Silliguri, West Bengal. In this role, you will oversee teams working on 4500 HP and 6000 HP locomotives, driving technical resolution and warranty management to achieve the best performance levels.
What You'll Do
- Provide leadership in the diesel shed and offer technical guidance to Technicians and teams engaged in maintenance and warranty management of locomotives.
- Plan and execute all work to achieve optimal performance levels.
- Ensure all scheduled, unscheduled, heavy maintenance, and wreck repair activities follow defined procedures, timelines, cost, and quality standards, including documentation sign-off.
- Escalate all non-compliances in work scopes to the appropriate authority.
- Ensure all work performed adheres to established EHS policies and practices.
- Maintain compliance with local regulations and specific customer safety policies throughout the shed.
- Conduct in-depth technical analysis of recurring failure modes.
- Develop and implement technical repair strategies.
- Interface between field service teams, engineering, and customers.
- Manage complex technical warranty investigations.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and recommendations.
- Coordinate warranty repair protocols and technical documentation.
- Support root cause analysis for critical locomotive system failures.
- Develop technical training materials for warranty assessment.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 12+ years of applicable operations experience in locomotive maintenance, and/or transportation/rolling stock equipment.
- Willingness to work in 24x7 operations, including different shifts and various days.
- Experience or exposure to IT tools for planning and executing work.
- The ability to lead teams effectively in a shop environment.

This is an onsite position based in Silliguri, West Bengal.
