Wise is hiring a SEO Business Content Specialist to join our growing SEO Content team in Tokyo. You will focus on attracting and converting new business customers in Japan through high-quality B2B content. This senior-level role involves developing long-term SEO content plans for our website and blog.
What You'll Do
- Produce high-quality, SEO-optimized business content in Japanese for the Wise Japanese blog to drive business customer adoption
- Revisit, optimize, and improve older articles to enhance their performance
- Own the content process end-to-end from ideation and briefing to proofreading, editing, and publishing
- Understand the specific needs, wants, and pain points of business customers within the Japanese market
- Explain our products in an easy-to-understand way for readers
- Conduct keyword research to plan content that drives organic traffic and attracts new business customers
- Find, coordinate, and manage a team of talented freelance writers
- Edit copy directly and make necessary changes
- Make data-driven decisions using a range of SEO and analytics tools
- Proactively monitor the competitor landscape in your locale
- Size up and prioritize content projects based on high growth impact and potential
- Articulate the problems you're solving and your hypothesis for solutions
- Communicate key insights and obstacles to your team and the broader Marketing team
- Collaborate with regional marketing channels and product managers to align and discover new content opportunities
- Ensure all content follows legal, brand, and PR guidelines
What We're Looking For
- A good understanding of the Japanese market and local insights about the needs and pain-points of managing money internationally in Japan
- 2-3 years of SEO content experience with a track record of creating content plans that demonstrably impacted business goals
- Fluency in both written and spoken English, as it's our internal communication language
- A keen eye for content quality and readability with native speaker proficiency
- A great eye for detail and what makes ‘good’ content, from small copy changes to bulk article fixes
- A love for data and an understanding of how to measure work performance via traffic and conversion rates
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work with people outside your own team, like local freelancers and other Wise teams
- Ability to use different SEO tools (GA, GSC, Ahrefs, SEMRush and Looker as a bonus) and explain analysis clearly
- A strategic mindset used to building data-backed hypotheses and new initiatives
- A preference for autonomy over structure, with no fear of taking responsibility and ownership of your work
Nice to Have
- Curiosity about using AI and automation to boost productivity
- Personal experience using Wise or similar products to move or manage money internationally
- Some experience with or working for digital finance brands, banks, or products
- Experience with marketing to business customers in Japan, or B2B marketing in general
