StackAdapt is looking for a Senior/Staff Backend Software Engineer to join our team focused on Mobile App User Acquisition. You will design, build, and scale the backend systems that drive our programmatic advertising platform for mobile applications.
What You'll Do
- Architect, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services for mobile app user acquisition
- Design robust APIs and data pipelines to handle high-volume, low-latency advertising requests
- Collaborate with product and data science teams to implement and optimize bidding algorithms
- Ensure system reliability, scalability, and observability through monitoring and automation
- Mentor other engineers and participate in code and design reviews
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of professional experience building and scaling backend systems
- Proven expertise in designing distributed systems and microservices
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend language such as Go, Python, or Java
- Deep experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, caching layers, and message queues
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and container orchestration
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a focus on writing clean, maintainable code
Nice to Have
- Background in the advertising technology, mobile marketing, or real-time bidding space
- Knowledge of mobile ecosystems (iOS, Android) and attribution methodologies
- Experience with data-intensive applications, real-time analytics, or machine learning pipelines
- Familiarity with performance optimization and cost efficiency at scale
