M&T Bank is hiring a Senior Technical Writer to specialize in Azure cloud architecture and infrastructure design documentation. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and editing technical project documents and architecture artifacts for the bank's large-scale systems.
What You'll Do
- Perform documentation tasks for Azure cloud architecture and infrastructure design, including networking, firewall, storage, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Create and edit technical project documents, including architecture artifacts based on existing systems or design concepts from senior team members.
- Use technical writing tools such as Power Designer, Microsoft Visio, UML, and/or Adobe Technical Communication Suite.
- Create content and graphics for end-user administration, installation, configuration guides, and online help.
- Prepare conceptual, logical, and/or physical processes documents.
- Validate technical documentation and confirm alignment with product functionality.
What We're Looking For
- Strong knowledge and experience with documentation tasks for Azure cloud architecture and infrastructure design.
- Familiarity with networking, firewall, storage, backup, and disaster recovery design.
- Experience in the creation and editing of technical project documents including architecture artifacts.
- Skilled at using standard technical writing tools such as Power Designer, Microsoft Visio, UML, and/or Adobe Technical Communication Suite.
- Proficiency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate with cross-functional teams (development, Architecture, business, testing) and a wide range of audiences.
Nice to Have
- Strong knowledge and experience with documentation tasks for large scale Java EE application design concepts (security, scalability, reliability, performance).
- Experience with a wide range of technical writing methods, tools, techniques, and knowledge of industry and government standards and best practices.
- Experience and ability to create a glossary or list of terms and definitions.
- Experience with office automation suites, presentation tools, and at least one authoring package.
- Experience in the Public Sector, either as a vendor representative or under contract to a government ministry or agency.
