Illumina, Inc. is hiring a Senior Territory Account Manager to ensure the achievement of territory sales objectives and growth targets. In this field-based role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales plans while providing critical market feedback. You will be home-office based in Iowa or Illinois and serve as a key customer-facing representative for Illumina’s genomic technologies.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement territory and account-specific sales plans to meet assigned quotas.
- Adjust plans in response to changing company priorities and customer needs.
- Engage in accurate forecasting and sales pipeline management.
- Proactively use and maintain the CRM database.
- Deliver technical and scientific seminars on Illumina products and their capabilities.
- Demonstrate the role and relevance of Illumina’s portfolio through a consultative sales process.
- Monitor emerging market trends to identify new opportunities and create customer value.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams regardless of geographic location.
- Navigate a multi-tiered sales process for capital equipment, consumables, and services.
- Match customer business objectives with Illumina capabilities to deliver mutual value.
- Prospect for new customer leads and business while actively managing and expanding existing accounts.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships at various organizational levels.
- Continuously learn about new applications and growth opportunities for Illumina technology.
- Effectively handle interpersonal challenges and maintain team focus on the customer.
- Demonstrate a win-win approach in negotiations.
What We're Looking For
- Knowledge of clinical and research applied genetics and genomics.
- Demonstrable experience working with key clinical and research accounts in Iowa and Illinois (excluding Chicago).
- 5+ years of proven life science capital sales experience or equivalent.
- Foundational understanding of next generation sequencing (NGS) and genotyping.
- A minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.

Work Mode
This is a hybrid, field-based position. You will be customer-facing and operate from a home office located in Iowa or Illinois.
