Crowell & Moring is hiring a Senior Technical Trainer to join our team. In this role, you will assess learning needs with key stakeholders and design, develop, implement, and revise a wide range of learning resources. You’ll provide new hire training and continuing education to support the current and future needs of our attorneys and staff globally.
What You'll Do
- Train new employees on the firm’s technology, including application usage, remote access, and telephone/voicemail systems.
- Lead the development of written training curricula and associated materials for current and new technology initiatives.
- Deliver user-focused training through instructor-led sessions, one-on-one coaching, demonstrations, webinars, micro videos, and eLearning modules across all offices.
- Conduct assessments to determine current and future training needs in information technology and recommend goals and priorities.
- Conduct evaluations to assess the effectiveness of training sessions and materials, maintaining records and preparing related reports.
- Research, design, develop, and maintain course descriptions, materials, user documentation, FAQs, online learning content, schedules, registration, and attendance records using the firm’s learning management system.
- Evaluate, test, and recommend new or upgraded hardware and software packages based on user needs.
- Lead the coordination of training registration, scheduling, and material production.
- As directed, resolve and document requests for assistance from clients experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other technologies.
- Create educational resources, including eLearning videos and guides, for other departments as needed.
- Conduct New Hire Orientation for employees across all offices.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Equivalent training and experience may substitute for education.
- Minimum of five (5) years of increasingly responsible, directly related law firm experience.
- Demonstrated experience teaching Microsoft Office/M365 and standard legal applications to users at all skill levels (e.g., iManage, NetDocs or other DMS, Intapp Time, Laurel AI or similar time entry, Litera ChangePro or similar redlining tool, Legal MacPac/Forte, etc.).
- Ability to present complex subject matter in understandable terms to learners with diverse levels of computer experience.
- Demonstrated persuasive communication skills, both oral and written, with attorneys and staff.
- Ability to relate software features to users’ work environment, tasks, and objectives to improve quality and productivity.
- Excellent facilitation, presentation skills, and an engaging presentation style.
- Demonstrated ability to make effective presentations to small and/or large groups.
- Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum, technical documentation, and eLearning videos.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, meet deadlines, and manage workload.
- Demonstrated ability to provide quality client service to internal and external contacts, requiring patience, creativity, and discretion.
- Ability to work independently or cooperatively, demonstrating initiative and self-motivation.
- Sound negotiation skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective business relationships.
- Ability to analyze information, apply critical and creative thinking to draw conclusions, and develop solutions.
- Ability to travel as necessary to conduct training in the firm’s remote offices.
- Working knowledge of eLearning/video creation tools such as Articulate, Camtasia, Vyond, Movavi, etc.
- Ability to safely lift, move, and carry items weighing less than 50 pounds.
