Lead and deliver advanced Elastic Stack implementations for public sector organizations in secure, high-stakes environments. As a Senior Technical Consultant, you will work directly with government and agency teams to assess technical needs, design robust data architectures, and deploy search, analytics, and observability solutions that meet stringent operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end consulting engagements, from solution design to deployment and optimization, primarily in remote settings with periodic on-site presence.
- Architect scalable Elasticsearch environments, including cluster configuration, capacity planning, and performance tuning for large-scale data ingestion and retrieval.
- Design and implement secure data pipelines using Logstash, Elastic Agent, and Fleet, ensuring compliance with ECS standards and resilience across diverse log sources.
- Develop proofs of concept and technical demonstrations that illustrate platform capabilities and support customer adoption.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex infrastructure challenges, particularly in Kubernetes, cloud environments, and distributed systems.
- Train and mentor junior consultants through hands-on coaching, code reviews, and enablement initiatives.
- Review technical documentation and project summaries to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with customer goals.
- Participate in hiring efforts by evaluating technical candidates for consulting roles.
Required Qualifications
- Active U.S. Federal Secret security clearance or higher.
- Minimum of 5 years in systems, network, or cloud engineering roles, with at least 3 years in customer-facing technical consulting or instruction.
- Proven experience deploying and managing Elasticsearch or similar distributed data platforms in production environments.
- Strong command of Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems, including command-line operations and system administration.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with programming languages including Python, Java, JavaScript, or Ruby.
- Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases, including Redis, MongoDB, or Elasticsearch.
- Ability to quickly master new Elastic technologies and adapt to evolving customer needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical instruction or public speaking experience with enterprise software audiences.
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+) or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Certifications in cloud platforms, Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible, or GitHub.
- Background in cybersecurity, network data analysis, or system log management.
- Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
- Elastic certifications such as Elastic Certified Engineer, Analyst, or Observability Engineer.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role with primary remote operations and periodic travel for on-site engagements. You will collaborate within a distributed global team, supporting clients across the United States and internationally. The position requires strong communication, self-direction, and the ability to thrive in asynchronous work settings.
