That's No Moon Entertainment is looking for a Senior Technical Artist passionate about game-making and workflow efficiency. In this role, you will be the critical bridge between technology and art, collaborating with programmers, designers, and artists to build and support pipelines for asset delivery.
What You'll Do
- Own specific content creation pipelines like World Partition Streaming Setup and HLOD Generation, collaborating with Engineering on performance and memory.
- Identify game performance bottlenecks and assist with general art content optimization.
- Act as a professional user, content developer, and engineering liaison for Unreal Engine to ensure proper adoption and prototype new features.
- Support content creation in engine and build necessary pipelines and tools.
- Educate and train less experienced tech artists on Unreal standard methodologies and problem-solving techniques.
- Troubleshoot Unreal content authoring issues encountered by users.
- Produce assets requiring Unreal technical expertise, such as setting up blueprints and shader networks.
- Collaborate with artists, TDs, and engineers to design and implement feature and pipeline improvements.
- Evaluate and incorporate new engine release features into the production workflow.
- Write clear, maintainable code within the structure of the studio code library.
- Create and maintain Unreal usage documentation.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of professional game development experience as a tech art generalist.
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine World Partition Streaming and HLOD.
- Unreal Engine expertise as both a power-user and developer (Blueprint & C++), with the ability to expose C++ properties to Python/Blueprint.
- Strong Blueprint/Python experience in tools and UI (EUW, PyQt).
- Runtime rendering profile and optimization experience.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of various CG art fields (modeling, materials, animation, lighting, VFX) and how they interconnect.
- Maya proficiency.
- Experience writing shaders.
- Maya API / Plugin experience.
