Responsibilities
- Analyze and review general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy, closings, and journal entries.
- Work in all phases of tax planning, tax preparation, review, compliance, and research.
- Be proficient in the preparation of various tax returns, including, but not limited to: Individual, Fiduciary, Corporate, Partnership, and Multistate.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts and identify areas for improvement.
- Work closely with Partners and Managers and assist team with ad-hoc assignments and special projects.
- Evaluate and record the client’s business transactions and the work of any accountant(s) assigned to their workload.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- CPA or CPA candidate
- At least 5+ years of experience in a CPA firm
- Able to work independently and within a team environment
- Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal
- Detail oriented and capable of multi-tasking, prioritizing and managing time effectively
Nice to Have
- Experience using UltraTax CS, Checkpoint, Microsoft Office Suite and Intuit products

Compensation
$70K – $85K annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications

Additional Information
- This position is initially remote, but will transition to a hybrid role requiring in-office presence 3 days per week once our South Carolina office is established.
- Candidates must be willing and able to relocate to the Columbia or Lexington, SC area to be considered for the role.
- Typical working hours aligning with EST to facilitate effective collaboration.
