Responsibilities
- Lead structural simulation and finite element analysis for aerospace systems
- Develop and validate structural models to predict performance under operational loads
- Collaborate with design teams to optimize components for strength and weight
- Support test planning and correlate simulation results with physical test data
- Create detailed analysis reports for design reviews and certification
- Evaluate material selection and structural behavior under extreme conditions
- Identify potential failure modes and recommend design improvements
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility
- Ensure compliance with structural safety and reliability standards
- Guide junior engineers in best practices for structural analysis
- Use advanced software tools for modeling complex structural systems
- Assess dynamic loading effects including vibration and impact
- Support rapid prototyping and iterative design processes
- Integrate analysis findings into system-level performance evaluations
- Maintain documentation for analysis methods and assumptions
- Troubleshoot structural issues during testing and field operations
- Participate in design trade studies to balance performance and cost
- Apply domain knowledge to novel vehicle architectures
- Stay current with advancements in structural mechanics and simulation techniques
- Contribute to risk assessments for structural components
