What You'll Do
Lead and resolve complex litigation involving Labor Law, construction injuries, premises liability, product defects, and commercial or personal auto incidents, primarily in Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk Counties. You will independently manage high-exposure cases from initial assessment through trial, with minimal oversight.
Conduct in-depth legal analysis and research to shape defense strategies, draft motions, briefs, and discovery materials, and prepare for depositions and hearings. You will represent clients before courts and administrative bodies, present evidence and witnesses, and argue cases at trial and on appeal.
Deliver clear, timely legal guidance to claims teams and internal stakeholders using digital platforms. Maintain professional communication with courts, counsel, and partners while adhering to procedural standards. Leverage AI and legal technology tools to enhance case outcomes and efficiency.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active license to practice in New York State
- Current standing in good standing with the NY Bar
- At least 10 years of experience in insurance defense litigation
- Proven record of serving as first chair in jury trials and appellate proceedings
- Exceptional legal writing, research, and case management abilities
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities
- Proficiency in digital communication, legal tech, and emerging AI tools
- Experience managing all phases of litigation from start to resolution
