Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure to play a key part in shaping and scaling the cutting-edge infrastructure that powers mission-critical data solutions. You will work within a collaborative, globally distributed engineering environment tackling complex challenges in cloud services, observability, and large-scale distributed systems.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to the design, development, and delivery of solutions that enhance cloud services, infrastructure, and tooling.
- Solve complex infrastructure problems with a software-driven, cloud-first approach, ensuring testability, repeatability, and quality.
- Collaborate with product and platform teams to execute on roadmaps with a focus on service reliability and scalability.
- Develop engineering best practices and standards to improve system performance and efficiency.
- Reduce operational toil through automation, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Deliver high-quality, elegant, and thoroughly tested software.
- Participate in on-call or off-hours duties as needed to ensure service availability.
What We're Looking For
- Strong development experience with JavaScript, Node.js, or TypeScript in Linux/Mac environments.
- Proven expertise in deploying and managing infrastructure in public cloud environments, preferably using Terraform.
- Significant experience in large-scale, highly available distributed systems and SaaS platforms.
- Solid background in writing API-driven software solutions to abstract and manage infrastructure details.
- Hands-on experience with scaling and deploying Linux-based systems.
- Ability to work autonomously in a highly distributed, cross-functional team.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a passion for building reliable, scalable solutions.
