Shopmonkey is hiring a Senior Software Engineer - DevOps to own our core infrastructure. You will deploy, maintain, and improve our application platform, with direct responsibility for its security, scalability, observability, and performance.
What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and maintain an infrastructure platform that serves as the foundation for an exceptional customer experience.
- Turn complex and ambiguous situations into actionable plans.
- Analyze and solve deep technical problems, providing mitigations and root cause analyses.
- Operate in a fast-moving environment, adapting to changing priorities and requirements.
- Identify manual processes and build automation to replace them.
- Handle customer-impacting escalations and participate in an on-call rotation.
- Be a driving force for incident response and blameless post-mortem reporting.
What We're Looking For
- At least 4 years of professional experience managing production-grade public cloud infrastructure in Google Cloud Platform.
- Cloud networking knowledge (DNS, firewall/security groups, VPN, subnets, CIDR).
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools including Terraform, Ansible, etc.
- Strong scripting experience with bash, yaml, Typescript, GO, etc.
- Experience building CI pipelines with tools such as Github Actions, Argo, Code Pipeline, or similar technologies.
- Extensive experience managing Kubernetes clusters—including cluster definition, autoscaler rulesets, and networking.
- Experience with Git and GitHub or GitLab.
- Knowledge of best practices related to security, performance, and disaster recovery.
- Familiarity with Monitoring, Observability, and Alerting tools (Prometheus/Grafana, Datadog, Pager Duty, OpenTelemetry, etc.).
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a similar field, or equivalent experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience with DevSecOps, such as knowledge of SOC2, PCI, and/or ISO 27001 certification.

- Compensation range: $165,000 to $185,000 + bonus + equity.

Work Mode
This is a hybrid position open to remote candidates in Colorado.
