PepsiCo is hiring a Senior Scientist to represent the Life Sciences function for our CSD and Sparkling portfolio. In this role, you will bridge nutrition and physiology with business goals, working closely with R&D and business teams to drive competitive advantage.
What You'll Do
- Lead life science initiatives for CSD and Sparkling categories, responsible for brands like Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Bubly, SodaStream, and Poppi.
- Ensure the scientific integrity of functional benefits, claims, and associated communications throughout the product lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs, Scientific Affairs, and related functions to ensure all communicated benefits or ingredients meet regulations and safety standards.
- Partner with cross-functional teams in R&D, Marketing, and Legal to influence product design and drive scientific and nutritional credibility.
- Monitor and evaluate emerging functional and nutritional trends and the competitive landscape in the CSD/Sparkling space.
- Influence brand vision and the feasibility of deliverables with creativity, agility, and pragmatism.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years’ experience in Nutrition Science, Life Sciences, Public Health, Food Science, or a related field.
- A creative thinker with strong interpersonal communication, a sense of curiosity, and scientific depth.
- Working knowledge of general business processes and end-to-end commercialization.
- Fundamental knowledge of functional ingredients and/or physiological functions.
- Ability to distill scientific and nutritional concepts into a format understandable to non-scientific audiences.
- Ability to work in a matrixed organization across core and cross-functional teams.
- Strong project management skills, leading multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally (approximately 10%).
Nice to Have
- An advanced degree (PhD, MSc, or equivalent).
