GitLab is hiring a Senior Sales Representative to drive revenue growth in the Mid-Atlantic region. This remote position requires executing strategies to secure new customers and expand existing accounts, leveraging a deep understanding of sophisticated life science technology. You will build strong customer relationships and work collaboratively to meet ambitious goals.
What You'll Do
- Develop a strong understanding of Element technology.
- Establish and execute strategies for obtaining new customers and maintain/grow existing customer accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals.
- Take an analytical approach towards executing optimal solutions for an issue or opportunity.
- Present versatile and unique solutions during customer negotiations to establish mutually beneficial circumstances.
- Learn, change, and gain from each experience to become more effective in subsequent sales scenarios.
- Work effectively in a team environment to drive and create revenue opportunities.
- Manage customer relationships post-sale, including developing long-term business relationships.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- 6+ years of commercial (sales/marketing/business development) experience or equivalent experience within a laboratory setting plus customer facing experience.
- Capital equipment sales experience.
- Proven ability to sell sophisticated, high-throughput instrument platforms and associated consumables in a highly technical environment.
- Strong Genetics and Molecular Biology foundation.
- Strong desire to 'win' and build customer relationships.
- Physically located in the territory and willing to travel frequently to customer sites.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's degree preferably in Biology / Genetics or Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Biology / Genetics.
- Knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing and Genotyping methods.
- Deep knowledge and relationships with decision makers/influencers and leading researchers in the sequencing and spatial biology community.
- Experience with strategic sales skills with proven ability to develop and grow key accounts.
