Role Overview

As the Senior Royalty & Distribution Manager, you will lead critical teams handling the processing of incoming royalty data and the execution of quarterly royalty distributions. You are the operational anchor, ensuring precision, consistency, and transparency across all stages of the royalty cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the Receipt Processing & Matching and Royalty Distribution teams, setting clear goals and supporting professional growth.
  • Ensure balanced workloads, consistent performance, and adherence to deadlines across both teams.
  • Oversee the accurate receipt, matching, and reconciliation of royalty data from collecting societies, partners, and digital platforms.
  • Manage end-to-end preparation and delivery of quarterly royalty payments, maintaining high standards of accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop and maintain clear, standardized operating procedures to support consistency and reduce errors.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, enhance efficiency, and strengthen data integrity.
  • Implement quality controls to minimize operational risk and ensure compliance with internal standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Rights, Finance, Client Operations, Revenue Optimisation, Product, and Platform teams to align on processes and timelines.
  • Communicate proactively about progress, challenges, and operational requirements across departments.
  • Act as the central liaison for the royalty lifecycle, ensuring internal stakeholders understand how data flows and when key milestones occur.
  • Support client-facing teams by maintaining reliable, transparent royalty processes and responding to operational inquiries as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with external partners where coordination is essential.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in people leadership, with the ability to manage and develop two distinct operational teams.
  • Strong operational discipline with a focus on accuracy, process consistency, and accountability.
  • Experience in royalty processing, data reconciliation, and distribution cycles within a music or content rights environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex processes clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain reliable systems and ensure teams meet strict deadlines without compromising quality.
  • A track record of fostering collaboration, reliability, and ownership within team cultures.
