6Minded is hiring a Senior Rigging TD (Rigging, DNEG VFX)

ARRISE is seeking a Senior Rigging TD to join the DNEG VFX team. In this role, you will be integral to building high-quality rigs and ensuring their technical feasibility within our production pipelines. You will provide technical guidance, create custom tools, and collaborate closely with artists and animators.

What You'll Do

• Build character rigs and ensure technical feasibility and quality within production pipelines.
• Provide technical guidance and create custom tools and scripts.
• Collaborate with other artists and animators.
• Mentor junior staff and provide support to more junior team members.
• Ensure character assets meet all technical and artistic constraints.
• Develop the department's standardized processes.
• Keep work on schedule by managing productivity and cross-department communication.
• Provide accurate and detailed feedback to artists and implement training plans.

What We're Looking For

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the visual effects or related industry.
• Strong Python and Maya scripting proficiency.
• A strong understanding of anatomy, geometry, facial rigging, and animation.
• Experience with Unreal Engine and the ability to build real-time rigs.
• In-depth knowledge of character rigging techniques and principles.

Nice to Have

• An interest in anatomy or mechanics, depending on your area of specialization.
• Proficiency in Unreal Engine tools and workflows, with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving.
• Strong understanding of Linux/Unix based operating systems.
• Experience with Ziva RT and/or machine learning.
• Experience with C++.
