loanDepot is looking for a Retail Loan Processor based on the East Coast. In this role, you will work independently processing both conventional and government mortgage products. You will examine and evaluate customer applications for real estate loans, taking responsibility for closing loans in a timely manner.
What You'll Do
- Review loan files and determine what documentation is required to meet investor guidelines.
- Communicate and respond to internal customers like Loan Consultants and Processing Managers, and external customers like borrowers and third-party vendors, generally within 2 hours.
- Utilize pipeline reports to effectively manage loans and prioritize your daily workflow.
- Become proficient with our document management system, updating all information appropriately and accurately.
- Consult with your Loan Processing Manager weekly on loan status and prioritize workflow accordingly.
- Maintain current knowledge of underwriting guidelines and loan programs.
- Request, organize, and process loan documentation, independently submitting files to Underwriting monthly.
- Successfully manage a full pipeline of loans, month over month.
- Consistently hit monthly funding requirements based on pipeline size and current market conditions.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of loan processing experience is required.
- FHA/VA product experience is required.
- Automated Underwriting (DU) experience is required.
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
Nice to Have
- Purchase processing experience is preferred.
- Being bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred.
Team & Environment
You will work independently but consult with a Loan Processing Manager weekly.
