Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is hiring a Senior Project Manager - Semiconductor Technologies to join our business development efforts. You will actively build strategic customer relationships and manage demanding projects from initial idea through successful implementation, blending deep technical understanding with entrepreneurial drive.
What You'll Do
- Acquire new customers for both ENAS and the FMD pilot line in areas including process and technology development (frontend and backend), testing and reliability, and system expertise in microelectronics, MEMS, power, photonics, quantum, and spintronics.
- Analyze markets and competitive environments, identify new business potential, and define sustainable customer and cooperation strategies with decision-makers.
- Continuously expand your network with semiconductor manufacturers, automotive suppliers, research institutes, and industrial partners and maintain existing contacts.
- Develop customer-specific solution concepts in close coordination with technical teams, create offers, and conduct contract negotiations until successful project completion.
- Take over technical and/or commercial project management for selected customer projects after successful acquisition—from inquiry through planning to implementation.
- Coordinate interfaces between customers, development, production, and external partners and ensure smooth information flow.
- Advise customers as a competent contact person on the selection and integration of complex technologies and support them in strategic technology decisions.
- Identify project risks early, initiate appropriate measures, and ensure transparency through structured documentation, reports, and status updates.
What We're Looking For
- Completed degree in a STEM field (e.g., electrical engineering, chemistry, physics, microsystems engineering, materials science) or comparable qualification.
- At least five years of professional experience in business development, product marketing, application engineering, sales, or technology project management in the semiconductor industry, microelectronics, or a comparable high-tech industry.
- Established network in the semiconductor industry, among automotive suppliers, in the electrical and computing/communications industry and/or research institutes.
- Solid technical understanding in at least one of the areas: heterogeneous integration, MEMS, power electronics, photonics, quantum, or spintronics.
- Pursue goals persistently and possess a pronounced, winning skill to successfully conclude negotiations with customers or partners.
- Routine in remote collaboration and in intercultural communication with international teams and customers.
- High communication skills, empathy, and a structured and independent way of working.
- Willingness for regular business trips to Regensburg as well as national and international travel.
- Very good German and English language skills, spoken and written.
