At Illumina, we are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Medical Affairs team. In this role, you will provide critical support to the EMEALA Medical Affairs team by coordinating key scientific collaborations and managing international consortia. You will be an essential partner to Regional Medical Leads and cross-functional teams, ensuring projects move forward efficiently and with full transparency.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain fully integrated project schedules and tracking tools.
- Ensure accurate, cross-functional project visibility and alignment.
- Prepare status reports, asset updates, and scenario summaries.
- Schedule and lead project meetings, including drafting agendas and minutes.
- Track and escalate action items or risks to appropriate leaders.
- Facilitate communication of sub-team issues and outcomes to Regional and Clinical Research leadership.
- Manage interfaces between functions and ensure seamless handoffs.
- Lead an internal consortium core team, tracking progress across work packages.
- Monitor FTE contributions, in-kind support, budget use, and travel cost allocations.
- Represent Illumina in consortium governance and project management calls.
- Synthesize and cascade updates, risks, and changes to internal stakeholders.
- Ensure cross-functional alignment on timelines, deliverables, and reporting requirements.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant documentation of all activities.
- Coordinate internal and external audits as required.
- Work closely with consortium leads to ensure full alignment with agreed procedures.
What We're Looking For
- Experienced project manager excelling at leading, organizing, and executing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
- Hands-on experience managing EU-funded projects.
- Solid grasp of EU grant rules and processes.
- Exceptional communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Fluent in English.
- Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple fast-paced initiatives.
- Strong technical skills in tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.
- Experience with project management platforms like Jira or Smartsheet.
- Confident working independently and leading cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have
- Background in medical or scientific environments.
- Proficient in an additional major European language (such as French, Spanish, German, or Italian).
