GE Appliances, a Haier company, is looking for a Senior Product Service Specialist – HVAC to play a critical role in ensuring a superior ownership and service experience. This remote position in Canada focuses on ductless and unitary air products, leading serviceability and training efforts across multiple functions as the primary 'Voice of Service'.
What You'll Do
- Develop and enhance product training modules covering product lineup, application, installation, operation, control, service, troubleshooting, and selection software.
- Create hands-on training materials that simulate faults for customer troubleshooting practice.
- Conduct training independently for internal and external customers in various settings, including company facilities, distributor locations, and via Web-based sessions.
- Support in-field investigations to identify product performance issues, gathering data and participating in discussions with product engineering.
- Support distributor or dealer projects including field troubleshooting, product commissioning, application development, and technical assistance.
- Edit and suggest revisions to product service literature such as wiring diagrams, installation manuals, and service manuals.
- Author and develop service guides, service bulletins, and training bulletins, collaborating with a technical editor for final release.
- Provide post-event reports and research for training events.
- Modify technical content in marketing materials to meet customer requirements.
- Develop and deploy product updates, cut sheets for sales personnel, and technical training sessions.
What We're Looking For
- Strong HVAC aptitude and a solid understanding of inverter technology.
- Proven problem-solving skills with a passion for training and customer support.
- Developed computer skills including Microsoft PowerPoint and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience in a project-oriented environment.
- A demonstrated self-starter who works independently without constant supervision.
- Ability to challenge the status quo and drive for performance excellence.
- Prior experience developing and/or delivering technical training material.
- A high-energy person able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Completion of a recognized technical HVAC training program.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in HVAC field service roles.
- A valid Class B Gas Fitter License (issued by Technical Safety BC) or eligibility to obtain it.
- A valid driver’s license and ability to travel within Canada.
- Must reside in British Columbia or elsewhere in Western Canada.
Nice to Have
- Red Seal Certification as a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic (or in-progress toward Red Seal).
- Familiarity with BC Safety Authority regulations and Technical Safety BC permitting requirements.
- Additional trade certifications such as NATE or manufacturer-specific credentials.
- Language skills in French or Mandarin Chinese.
- Prefer ductless, unitary, or VRF experience.
