Role Overview
This position is a remote-based technical pre-sales role serving clients in the Albany Area and Eastern New York region. The Senior Presales Systems Engineer collaborates closely with Territory Managers to assess customer requirements and architect customized networking solutions. The role emphasizes consultative engagement, technical leadership, and solution design to support enterprise sales cycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical strategy for assigned accounts, aligning HPE Networking products with complex customer challenges
- Design end-to-end solutions combining hardware, software, and services tailored to client environments
- Develop and deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept deployments
- Collaborate with partners and vendors to expand market reach and support demand generation initiatives
- Support bid development, including solution design, specifications, and proposal documentation
- Advise internal sales teams and external stakeholders on product capabilities and integration scenarios
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline aligned with regional targets
- Provide post-sales technical follow-up to ensure implementation success and customer satisfaction
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge development
- Stay current with competitive technologies, industry trends, and product advancements
Qualifications
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with three years of experience. A strong background in networking, pre-sales engineering, and technical customer engagement is essential. Candidates should demonstrate deep expertise in L2/L3 switching, routing, WLAN, LAN, and WAN technologies.
Proficiency in oral and written communication, organizational planning, and client-facing presentation is required. The ability to engage with senior stakeholders across organizations is critical. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or Green Card holders due to involvement with SLED government accounts.

Compensation & Benefits
The annual compensation range is USD 199,000 to 411,500, combining base salary and target sales incentives at 100% plan attainment, with a 75%/25% base-to-target mix.
