About the Role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is looking for a Senior Officer, Technical Partnerships to join the Violence Prevention and Response Unit (VPRU+). In this pivotal role, you will lead on bringing together internal IRC teams to ensure the continued growth and development of strategic new business opportunities and meet private fundraising ambitions. You will oversee a portfolio of key funding priorities and play a central role driving IRC’s ambitious Impact @ Scale plans.

What You'll Do

  • Work closely with the Associate Director, VPRU, and I@S Leadership to develop and implement BD strategy, including overseeing strategic positioning materials and donor engagement plans.
  • Represent Impact @ Scale priority areas within agile teams and thought leadership working groups.
  • Influence resource-mobilization strategies for I@S, help shape donor pathways geared toward scale, and support alignment across technical and fundraising teams.
  • Work with GPLs, Regional Leads and fundraisers to shape project ideas, proactive messaging and materials, and funding need pitches.
  • Provide high-level advisory input to GPLs, and fundraising teams across priority areas.
  • Maintain portfolio of support for key priority areas, including “ready for scale” priorities.
  • Work alongside technical leads and the wider Marketing & Mobilization team to develop multifaceted and compelling materials.
  • Support the creation of stewardship plans for restricted and loosely restricted donors.
  • Lead and/or support proposal development processes as needed for Protection and other priority areas.
  • Complement and amplify the capacity of the VPRU and fundraising teams by providing technical expertise, strategy support, and project alignment with donor interests.
  • Help develop and operationalize standard ways of working and process workflows for cross-functional projects.
  • Ensure an outstanding level of support to our internal partners, including coordinating and leading effective cross-functional meetings.
  • Work with TU and HV counterparts to create information sharing systems.
  • For strategic partnerships, engage across the duration of a grant to ensure donor requirements are met and design a creative, long-term engagement strategy.
  • Provide post-award project management support on large strategic grants as requested.

What We're Looking For

  • 6-7 years of related work experience, preferably with a large International Non-Governmental Organization in programs, fundraising and/or advocacy.
  • Outstanding communication, relationship management, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with global protection programming in low-resource settings.
  • Experience working with fundraising and grants management processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate around protection programming and strategy across both technical and lay audiences.
  • Experience fundraising for protection or related programming; ability to quickly get up to speed on technical content and strategy.
  • Excellent track record of delivering on sophisticated proposals and projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in international development, social work, or other relevant area, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience across strategic partnership development, program design and development, fundraising and communications channels.
  • Experience developing and implementing multi-million-dollar partnerships.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of other IRC languages (Spanish, French, Arabic) would be an asset.
  • Experience across strategic partnership development, programs, and fundraising.
  • International experience across diverse contexts; working with global, cross-cultural teams.
  • Master’s degree in related field or equivalent experience a bonus.

Team & Environment

This role is part of the Program Services team, managed in partnership between Program Services and the IRC’s Violence Prevention and Response (VPRU) Technical Unit (TU). You will be an integral part of a matrix management structure.

Benefits & Compensation

  • US Pay Range: $95,000 - $106,000
  • UK Pay Range: £55,000 - £64,000
