Amgen Inc. is looking for a Senior Medical Scientist - Prostate Cancer in Global Medical Affairs. This role supports the Prostate Global Medical Affairs Team, contributing to program strategy through a deep understanding of the Prostate Cancer management landscape to help serve patients living with serious illnesses.
What You'll Do
- Support the development and execution of the global medical affairs strategy including medical insight generation and translation into actionable strategic activities.
- Lead the implementation of scientific advisory boards and Executive Advisory Councils to inform clinical development strategy, shape the Target Product Profile (TPP), and guide global launch planning.
- Support the development and execution of the global medical evidence generation (AUEG) to shape clinical practice, demonstrate product value, and enable access.
- Contribute to the development of an integrated medical communication framework that defines the clinical narrative, scientific platform, and core scientific content, and informs global medical education initiatives.
- Develop robust external stakeholder engagement plan through collaboration with opinion leaders, advocacy groups, professional societies, and payers.
- Enhance Amgen's reputation as a science-based and patient focused company.
What We're Looking For
- Doctorate degree (PhD, MD/DO, or PharmD) and 2+ years Medical Affairs experience in the biopharmaceutical industry that includes collaborations with integrated delivery networks, accountable care organizations, and/or payers.
- OR Master’s degree and 5 years of Medical Affairs experience in the biopharmaceutical industry that includes collaborations with integrated delivery networks, accountable care organizations, and/or payers.
- OR Bachelor’s degree and 7 years Medical Affairs experience in the biopharmaceutical industry that includes collaborations with integrated delivery networks, accountable care organizations, and/or payers.
Nice to Have
- Doctorate degree from an accredited academic institution (PhD, MD/DO, or PharmD).
- 2+ years of clinical and/or basic science research experience, combined with clinical practice and/or biomedical teaching in oncology ideally in prostate cancer.
- Experience with stakeholder engagement and interactions (e.g. opinion leaders, advocacy groups, collaborative research networks).
- In-depth understanding of scientific methods and clinical applications based on medical, scientific and practical rationale.
- Familiarity with concepts of clinical research, clinical trial design, real world evidence, and biostatistics.
- Familiarity with oncology clinical studies.
- Sound scientific/medical judgment.
- Strong long term strategic vision and ability to anticipate and adapt to rapid changes within the treatment landscape.
- Familiarity with regulations and guidelines that govern pharma industry practices.
