About the Role

Bank of Montreal (BMO) is hiring a Bilingual (English/French) Virtual Estate Banker. In this role, you will work directly with executors, liquidators, and branch staff to process estate settlements, providing essential support and expertise. You will probe to understand banking needs and recommend appropriate financial solutions to ensure a seamless customer experience during a sensitive time.

What You'll Do

  • Probe to understand the banking needs of the estate and integrate relevant marketing promotions.
  • Complete needs assessments to identify and recommend financial solutions and preferred banking channels.
  • Handle calls and service requests in an informed, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Contact customers, executors, or liquidators to obtain necessary information and keep them informed of case status.
  • Stay current on consumer needs, industry trends, best practices, and the regulatory environment.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on business objectives.
  • Execute work to deliver timely, accurate, and efficient service.
  • Complete all estate-related tasks per legal, regulatory, and Bank policy requirements.
  • Review all legal documents provided by clients.
  • Answer service requests and make outbound calls as needed.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of customer and Bank information.
  • Provide subject matter expert advice to BMO partners on handling errors, complex issues, and escalations.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and compliance requirements, including Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing reporting.
  • Analyze issues and determine appropriate next steps.
  • May provide training and coaching to junior associates.

What We're Looking For

  • Typically between 2 - 3 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must meet all licensing and certification requirements for the relevant team, branch, and jurisdiction.
  • In-depth knowledge of Estate and Deceased account processes.
  • An understanding of risk and regulatory requirements.
  • Fluent in both French and English, as this role provides support to clients and team members inside and/or outside Quebec.

This position is part of Customer Shared Services at BMO.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation range: $38,500.00 - $71,000.00.

Work Mode

This role is based locally within the country, with the primary location being Quebec (QC).
