Worley is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer to oversee on-site mechanical installation, testing, and commissioning activities. You'll ensure field execution aligns with project requirements, providing technical support and problem-solving throughout the construction and operational phases.
What You'll Do
- Provide support for the installation, alignment, testing, and commissioning of mechanical equipment and systems, including pumps, compressors, rotating and static equipment, and piping interfaces.
- Deliver troubleshooting support during the construction, installation, and operation of mechanical systems.
- Participate in root cause analyses and failure investigations, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
- Review mechanical drawings and documentation, including general arrangement drawings, equipment datasheets, specifications, and installation procedures.
- Prepare and update redlines, as-built documentation, procedures, manuals, and engineering reports.
- Validate mechanical installation activities to ensure compliance with design requirements and technical standards.
- Monitor lifting, handling, and equipment installation practices to ensure proper execution.
- Ensure compliance with local and international mechanical standards, such as ASME, API, and ISO.
- Verify installation quality, tolerances, torque, alignment, and equipment preparation.
- Identify deviations from mechanical specifications, report findings, and escalate early alerts.
- Support inspections and participate in mechanical completion walkdowns and punch list resolution.
- Collaborate with electrical, civil, process, instrumentation, and control/software teams to ensure integrated system execution.
- Assist with purchase order reviews, supplier documentation, and material inspection.
- Participate in interdisciplinary engineering reviews and provide mechanical input for construction and commissioning stages.
- Attend technical meetings with suppliers, contractors, and clients.
- Ensure full compliance with industrial safety and HSE standards.
- Participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Permit to Work (PTW), and risk assessment processes.
- Promote safe work practices and contribute to a strong field safety culture.
What We're Looking For
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Solid understanding of mechanical equipment, rotating and static equipment, and mechanical system installation.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, equipment datasheets, installation procedures, and supplier documentation.
- Knowledge of ASME, ISO, API, and other relevant mechanical standards.
Nice to Have
- Experience in mining, oil and gas, energy, or industrial construction projects is valued.
