About the Role

TD Canada Trust is looking for a Senior Market Risk Analyst to join our Market Risk- Rates team. You will play a key role in identifying, analyzing, and challenging market risks that impact our organization's risk appetite and capital. This involves close collaboration with trading businesses, Product Control/Finance, and compliance.

What You'll Do

  • Identify and analyze market risks that could impact the organization.
  • Help develop and implement risk management processes and industry best practices.
  • Monitor market conditions and assess risk exposures.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor team members on risk management practices.
  • Prepare and present risk reports to senior management.
  • Conduct stress tests and scenario analyses.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with trading businesses, Product Control/Finance, and compliance.
  • Review and comment on significant P&L drivers by highlighting relationships between market risk events and risk exposures.
  • Provide guidance and support to other departments on risk-related matters.
  • Stay updated on market trends and regulatory changes.
  • Participate in projects testing implementation of risk management tools and systems.
  • Participate in regular risk assessments and audits.
  • Develop and maintain risk management policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the development of contingency plans for potential market disruptions.
  • Manage oversight process, risk-based identification and monitoring of related risks and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor service, productivity and assess efficiency levels and implement continuous process/performance improvements.
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional/enterprise initiatives as an organizational or subject matter expert.
  • Contribute to the development of executive level tools and/or comprehensive market risk frameworks.
  • Oversee or lead the facilitation and/or implementation of action/remediation plans.
  • Proactively identify key business opportunities, research and recommend enhancements/modifications, develop strategies, and execute.
  • Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field such as Quantitative Finance or Computer Sciences.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets and instruments.
  • Proficiency in risk management tools and software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, FRM).
  • Advanced programming skills in Python.

Team & Environment

You will join the Market Risk- Rates team covering Repo Trading, Funding, Canadian Interest Rate Trading and IRT (Interest Rate Internal Risk Transfer). This role generally reports to a Manager.
