The Senior Manager, US Value Access and Payer Marketing Program Management plays a central role in executing market access strategies for key products. This position oversees the planning, implementation, and operational management of payer marketing initiatives, ensuring alignment with broader commercial and strategic goals. The role requires close coordination with Brand Marketing, Health Economics, Legal, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Commercial Analytics, and Sales to deliver effective, compliant solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute annual market access strategies and tactical plans, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
- Manage project timelines, vendor partnerships, and cross-functional workflows to support payer engagement and contracting.
- Provide strategic input based on analysis of managed markets, including Commercial Managed Care, Medicare, Medicaid, and Health Exchanges.
- Monitor industry shifts such as payer consolidation, benefit design changes, ACA developments, and quality metrics to assess impact on access and brand performance.
- Deliver actionable market insights to inform decision-making across Market Access and commercial teams.
- Lead business planning activities, including national and regional Value and Access meetings and conference execution.
- Support new product planning and business development through landscape assessments and payer response modeling.
- Develop and mentor project teams, fostering accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
- Ensure all initiatives meet legal, regulatory, and internal compliance standards.
- Act as a strategic liaison between Market Access and internal stakeholders to align programs with customer and patient needs.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of industry experience, or an MS with three years, or a PharmD/PhD with two years is required. Candidates must have a minimum of two years in biopharmaceutical commercial or payer operations and at least one year in a market access or payer marketing function. Strong project management, analytical capabilities, and understanding of payer decision-making across public and private sectors are essential. Fluency in English and the ability to translate strategy into measurable, high-impact programs are critical. An advanced degree (MPH, MBA, PharmD) is preferred.
