RBC Borealis is hiring a Senior Manager, Site Reliability Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and support of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) solutions for critical applications. You'll function as the Engineering arm of the Digital Branch SRE organization, collaborating closely with delivery teams and IT partners to ensure system reliability and performance.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate and build relationships with colleagues across Business and IT to achieve shared objectives.
- Participate in code and non-functional reviews of all production-bound SRE solutions.
- Manage vendor relationships, problem resolution, and application maintenance.
- Drive transformation by continuously looking for ways to automate existing processes.
- Track audit, monitor, and implement technical work streams.
- Act as a portfolio SME – understand & document common components, core functionalities, and infrastructure.
- Support the integration of new releases, bug fixes, and technology currency changes to production.
- Focus on continuous improvement and technical standards, driving better productivity, monitoring, and best practices.
- Manage the application’s maintenance budget and provide cost forecasts for new development initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in a technology leadership role, including people management.
- Proven experience in application support, maintenance, and delivery of enhancements on critical systems.
- Experience working with vendors and managing both onshore and offshore resources.
- Experience with different technologies, distributed systems, and workflows.
- Capacity planning, sizing, and performance tuning skills.
- Ability to identify and institute process improvements and effectively apply application enhancements.
- An analytical approach to issue identification and resolution.
- Capacity to understand the technical capabilities and limitations of existing and emerging architectures.
