What You'll Do
As a PostgreSQL Database Support Engineer, you'll work directly with customers to resolve advanced database challenges. You'll analyze performance bottlenecks, investigate replication failures, and guide teams through critical production outages using screen-sharing sessions and real-time collaboration.
You'll diagnose issues methodically, using tools like strace, gdb, and bpftrace to uncover root causes. Findings are communicated clearly through email, chat, or voice, ensuring clients understand both the problem and solution. You’ll also create technical content—blog posts, knowledge base articles, and webinars—on complex database topics to help others in the community.
Collaboration is central to this role. You’ll work alongside seasoned database professionals, share insights, and help shape best practices. Participation in forums and open-source discussions is expected, helping to strengthen the broader PostgreSQL ecosystem.
