Newell Brands is seeking a Senior Manager, Market Development & Planning (MD&P), RGM to lead strategic investment across our portfolio of leading brands. In this role, you will leverage consumer and category insights to develop investment strategies that drive profitable growth, optimize brand performance, and strengthen our market position.
What You'll Do
- Develop and manage the annual Channel and Customer Investment plan, identifying high-impact opportunities and setting financial guardrails.
- Maximize return on customer-facing investments, including trade spend, promotions, pricing actions, assortment, and merchandising.
- Manage Customer profitability through channel and customer segmentation, value leakage analysis, and identifying high ROI opportunities.
- Optimize Trade Spend through strategic budget allocation and funding that supports strategic initiatives.
- Drive Data-Driven Decision Making with a standard post-event analysis process and scenario models to compare investment alternatives.
- Track leading indicators, not just end-of-period results.
- Implement Governance & Controls, including clear approval processes for investments, enforcing compliance, and maintaining transparency through reporting.
- Lead Capability Building by training teams on ROI thinking and financial acumen, and refining tools and best practices.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in CPG or durable goods with expertise in brand/channel strategy, insights, category management, or revenue growth.
- Proven ability to manage multimillion-dollar P&L responsibilities and deliver measurable retail/customer growth.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in syndicated POS/panel tools, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and engage senior retail customers.
- Experience working in a matrixed environment and leading cross-functional alignment.
- Willingness to travel approximately 25%.
Nice to Have
- MBA preferred.
- Familiarity with Newell Brands’ portfolio (e.g., Rubbermaid®, Sharpie®, Coleman®).
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and BI tools.
- Experience developing category investment frameworks and optimizing trade spend.
