Make-A-Wish is seeking a Senior Manager, Learning and Development to advise and execute the learning strategy for our leaders, employees, and other audiences. You will be central to building and scaling mission-aligned leadership experiences and designing programs that deepen our enterprise culture engagement.
What You'll Do
- Identify and assess future and current organizational learning needs by partnering with key stakeholders.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to emerging leaders, in partnership with HR Business Partners.
- Collaborate across the People/HR team to promote workplace optimization through tools and programs.
- Research, design, develop, and continuously refine customized training content in multiple modalities.
- Evaluate L&D requests from across the organization, determining the approach and measures of success.
- Facilitate learning programs, courses, and workshops across the National Office and Chapters.
- Evaluate existing learning solutions for efficiency, effectiveness, and potential for broader usage.
- Identify and implement program improvements, tools, and technology to enhance learning execution.
- Define parameters for delivering and measuring learning, establishing metrics for success.
- Evaluate and manage external vendors as needed.
- Develop and deliver an enterprise learning and innovation strategy tied to the overall Strategic Plan.
- Create training content using instructional design techniques and expertise.
- Collaborate with HR/People and IT teams to ensure data integrity, reporting, and system improvements for our LMS.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, education, business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Organizational Development, or Instructional Design.
- 2+ years in a leadership role.
- A clear understanding of the employee life cycle and workforce trends.
- Demonstrated superior communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).
- Experience creating learning and development experiences that promote a culture of inclusion and belonging.
- Proven experience providing training using a variety of platforms and techniques (classroom, e-learning, webinars, gaming).
- Knowledge of instructional design theory and Adult Learning Principles.
- Familiarity with learning technology, from LMS platforms to web-enabled solutions like Articulate and WellSaid.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

- Preferred certifications: Enneagram, DISC, MBTI, Korn Ferry 360, EQI, SL, Prosci.

Work Mode
This is a hybrid position. Remote positions are open to applicants based anywhere in the continental U.S., while hybrid positions are open to applicants based in the Phoenix, Arizona area.
