ACLU is hiring a Senior Manager, Learning and Development

About the Role

This position leads the creation and execution of comprehensive learning strategies that support organizational growth, equity, and operational excellence. The role involves collaborating across departments to assess training needs, develop scalable programs, and evaluate the impact of learning interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and rollout of enterprise-wide learning strategies aligned with long-term organizational goals.
  • Design and manage leadership development programs for staff at multiple levels.
  • Assess skill gaps across teams and recommend targeted training solutions.
  • Collaborate with HR and department leaders to integrate learning into talent management processes.
  • Oversee the creation of digital and in-person training materials using adult learning principles.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative metrics.
  • Manage vendor relationships for external training resources and platforms.
  • Ensure all learning content reflects principles of equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
  • Lead facilitation of key workshops and leadership sessions.
  • Support onboarding programs to accelerate new hire integration.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Track learning engagement and completion rates across departments.
  • Stay current on industry trends in learning technology and instructional design.
  • Coordinate with compliance teams to deliver mandatory training modules.
  • Mentor junior staff and project teams involved in learning initiatives.
  • Develop communication plans to promote learning opportunities.
  • Integrate feedback mechanisms to improve course offerings.
  • Align learning outcomes with performance management systems.
  • Support change management efforts through targeted education campaigns.
  • Ensure learning systems are secure, accessible, and user-friendly.
  • Manage annual learning budget and resource allocation.
  • Report on learning KPIs to senior leadership.
  • Foster partnerships with internal subject matter experts.
  • Scale successful pilot programs organization-wide.
  • Maintain up-to-date learning management system content.
