About the Role

This position reports to the Vice President, International Government Solutions & Strategy of GM Defense LLC. The Senior Manager will orchestrate a multidisciplinary, interconnected team of GM Defense senior managers to implement international Government Solutions & Strategy initiatives in the United Kingdom, and support efforts across Europe and other regions as required. The role encompasses pinpointing and evaluating emerging business opportunities, cultivating and preserving relationships with international government customers, and steering capture and proposal efforts to broaden GM Defense's global presence. While international travel is mandatory, the position will be headquartered in the United Kingdom. Responsibilities: - Assist the Vice President in constructing the international business components of GM Defense's Long-Term Plan and Annual Operating Plan (AOP). - Achieve or surpass AOP and long-range objectives related to international business development. - Direct cross-functional capture and proposal teams including operations, legal, contracting, product development, finance, and GM LLC technical experts. - Implement capture activities including opportunity recognition, customer engagement, technical demonstrations, Gate briefings, export licensing, and adherence to ITAR, FMS, FMF, and DCS regulations. - Establish and maintain robust relationships with UK and European government customers, industry partners, and relevant US DoD entities. - Orchestrate meetings to gather market intelligence on requirements, acquisition strategies, and contract vehicles. - Facilitate GM Defense's involvement with UK and European defense procurement processes. - Craft solutions addressing customer capability gaps in alignment with GM Defense product strategies. - Preserve customer contact plans and technology roadmaps pertinent to government stakeholders. - Aid in establishing and managing International Government Solutions & Strategy priorities. - Ensure compliance with GM Company and GM Defense values, policies, and processes. - Record and disseminate best practices across the organization. - Actively engage in capture/proposal activities including Pursuit Decisions, Bid/No Bid gates, and Formal Pursuit Management Reviews. Required Qualifications: - Demonstrated leadership and motivational capabilities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. - Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams. - Self-motivated with analytical and problem-solving capabilities. - Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in the defense industry, including international sales and customer engagement. - Proven success in leading business development campaigns and capture efforts. - Experience working with international government and industry executives. - Proficiency in MS Office and remote collaboration tools. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Willingness to travel internationally up to 40%. - Strong business acumen and strategic thinking. Additional Desired Qualifications: - Experience capturing prime and subcontracting opportunities within the UK and broader European defense markets. - Working knowledge of UK and EU defense acquisition regulations and contract types. - Deep understanding of international defense/security business, including FMS and DCS. - Principle-based decision makers with high integrity and credibility. - Flexibility to travel globally. - Current or eligible security clearance preferred. Education Requirements: - Undergraduate degree required; advanced degree preferred. This role is categorized as remote. This means the selected candidate may be based anywhere in the country of work and is not expected to report to a GM worksite unless directed by their manager. This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.
