Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of commercial operations strategies in Japan
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and finance teams to align operational plans with business goals
- Oversee performance tracking and reporting to ensure transparency and accountability
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability of operations
- Manage key operational workflows including contracting, ordering, and customer support
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and internal policies across all operations
- Support market access and product launch initiatives with operational planning
- Develop dashboards and analytics to inform leadership decision-making
- Coordinate with regional and global teams to standardize best practices
- Lead cross-functional projects to address operational challenges and opportunities
- Optimize resource allocation and budget management for operational activities
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the operations team
- Serve as primary operations liaison for Japan-based stakeholders
- Monitor market trends and adapt operations to support evolving business needs
- Support training and onboarding for commercial teams on operational processes
- Evaluate vendor and third-party service providers for operational support
- Ensure accurate forecasting and demand planning inputs from operations
- Maintain strong communication between field teams and headquarters
- Drive digital transformation initiatives within commercial operations
- Champion customer-centric processes to improve service delivery
- Lead change management efforts related to operational systems and tools
- Oversee data integrity and reporting accuracy across platforms
- Contribute to long-term strategic planning for market growth
- Manage special projects as assigned by regional leadership

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or related field required
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial operations or related function
- Proven leadership experience in a multinational organization
- Strong understanding of healthcare markets in Japan
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and projects
- Demonstrated success in process optimization and operational efficiency
- Proficiency in data analysis and business intelligence tools
- Familiarity with CRM and ERP systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluency in Japanese and professional proficiency in English
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities
- Experience in medical devices or life sciences industry preferred
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for commercial operations in Japan
- Track record of delivering results in complex environments
- Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
