What You'll Do
As a Senior Loss Control Consultant, you will oversee a defined territory from Hartford, CT to Buffalo, NY, conducting in-depth risk evaluations for commercial clients across various industries. You’ll independently manage service schedules, perform on-site assessments, and deliver actionable recommendations to reduce workplace hazards and improve safety performance.
You will support underwriting decisions by providing technical insight into risk profiles and work directly with insureds to implement effective loss control strategies. This includes leading training sessions, advising management on safety practices, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and industry regulations. Your efforts will directly contribute to client retention and portfolio profitability.
Collaboration with internal teams is essential to align risk control initiatives with business goals. You’ll maintain up-to-date expertise in engineering principles, safety standards, and insurance practices, ensuring high-quality service delivery across all assigned accounts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Minimum of 13 years of experience in loss control with a major workers’ compensation insurer
- Must reside within the assigned territory (Hartford, CT to Buffalo, NY)
- Proven ability to assess complex commercial risks and deliver practical solutions
- Strong understanding of workers’ compensation and commercial lines coverage
- Experience developing and delivering training programs to clients
- Proficiency with computers and standard software applications
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Familiarity with underwriting and product management fundamentals
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional designation such as ARM, CPCU, CSP, CSHMS, ALCM, OHST, or Certified Engineering Technician
- Ongoing pursuit of relevant certifications

Work Mode
This is a hybrid role based in the Hartford, CT to Buffalo, NY corridor. Expect up to 60% travel, including occasional overnight trips. You’ll have flexibility to work remotely while maintaining regular field presence to support clients and internal teams.
