TUI Group was looking for a Senior Long Term Planning Manager

Shape the future of air travel by leading long-term network planning for a global airline operating across diverse markets. This role is central to aligning strategic vision with operational execution, ensuring optimal use of fleet assets, route profitability, and network connectivity through forward-looking analysis and planning frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and manage regional long-term network strategies by evaluating customer demand, market shifts, and competitive landscapes to enhance route performance and connectivity.
  • Provide analytical leadership for fleet planning, delivering scenario-based forecasts that inform acquisition, retirement, and reallocation decisions in line with growth and efficiency targets.
  • Model seasonal and annual capacity plans to support sustainable fleet utilization and adapt to evolving operational and market conditions.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders and represent the airline in regional and industry forums, advocating for strategic network priorities and securing alignment across divisions.
  • Develop and refine planning methodologies, tools, and processes to strengthen analytical depth and decision quality across long-term planning cycles.
  • Track and assess planning KPIs such as seat capacity, fleet usage, and route economics, identifying opportunities for optimization and corrective action.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven track record in airline network and fleet planning, with strong expertise in demand modeling, capacity optimization, and route economics.
  • Solid understanding of aircraft deployment cycles, seasonal scheduling, and aircraft economics within complex airline operations.
  • Experience working in matrixed organizations, influencing cross-functional leaders and presenting strategic recommendations to senior decision-makers.
  • Familiarity with operational constraints including crew availability, maintenance requirements, airport infrastructure, and fleet capabilities.
  • History of improving planning systems through automation, tool development, or workflow enhancements to increase efficiency and insight accuracy.
  • Committed to continuous improvement, with a proactive approach to refining planning practices and analytical frameworks.
