Bombardier is hiring a Senior Legal Counsel to join our team. In this role, you will provide strategic legal support for our aviation aftermarket business and corporate strategy, leading complex files and managing risk in a fast-paced environment. What You'll Do
- Report to the Director, Legal Services for Aftermarket Services & Corporate Strategy.
- Partner with business units to lead strategic files for the aviation aftermarket business, including large-scale construction agreements, M&A projects, leases, asset purchases, and maintenance contracts.
- Draft and review letters and agreements, engage stakeholders to develop action plans, and manage external counsel support.
- Manage claims and potentially litigious matters independently or in collaboration with other legal teams.
- Proactively manage risk through training, coaching, and implementing efficient contract governance processes.
- Ensure compliance with contracts, interpret provisions, and provide recommendations impacting relationships with customers and service providers.
- Identify commercial and contractual risks by facilitating communication between stakeholders and units like Legal, Tax, Risk Management, and Export Control.
- Anticipate stakeholder needs and proactively develop solutions.
- Serve as a key resource on complex and critical issues.
What We're Looking For
- Member in good standing of the Ontario or Québec Bar.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience practicing commercial/transactional law or commercial litigation.
- At least 3-4 years of practice within a renowned law firm.
- Strong leadership, autonomy, and excellent legal and business acumen.
- Comfortable working in an environment where technical questions are discussed.
- Ability to manage a busy schedule.
- Strong negotiation, drafting, communication, and persuasion skills.
- Sound business judgment and good business sense.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Perfectly bilingual (French and English), both verbally and in writing.
- Good knowledge of the MS-Office environment (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
