The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) is hiring a Senior Lead Business Intelligence Analyst to serve as the primary technical architect for our enterprise analytics capabilities. In this role, you will bridge the gap between strategic vision and technical reality, engineering data solutions that directly support ASCO's mission. You'll collaborate directly with Business Leaders to operationalize an Enterprise Analytics roadmap and build a scalable, data-driven foundation.
What You'll Do
- Partner with Business Leads and Portfolio Leads to design and execute an Enterprise Analytics roadmap aligned with ASCO's strategic mission.
- Act as a thought partner and advocate for Business Intelligence best practices to foster a data-driven culture.
- Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies to ensure ASCO's analytics capabilities are continuously evolving.
- Collaborate on the architectural design and modeling of multi-cloud Big Data platforms for a scalable analytic ecosystem.
- Lead conceptual and physical database design efforts to optimize data storage for retrieval speed and business relevance.
- Establish and maintain robust documentation and metadata standards to ensure data quality, transparency, and compliance.
- Design visually rich dashboards that translate complex datasets into clear, narrative-driven insights.
- Scale self-service analytics by implementing intuitive tools and providing necessary training for business users.
- Focus on measurable business results, ensuring every BI solution improves processes or enables smarter decision-making.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics) or equivalent years of specialized training and professional experience.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, and Data Management.
- A proven history of designing and scaling enterprise-grade data solutions in a multi-cloud environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale BI and Analytics initiatives within complex organizational structures.
- A track record of strategic collaboration with key stakeholders and executive leadership to align data initiatives with organizational goals.
- Deep expertise in data architecture, logical and physical modeling, SQL, and Big Data platforms.
- A solid understanding of database design and optimization techniques for high-performance data retrieval.
- A strong grasp of the full analytics development life cycle and enterprise architecture principles.
- Proven ability to drive organizational change and facilitate high levels of end-user adoption for new BI tools and processes.
- Expertise in establishing data documentation and governance frameworks, including metadata management and data quality best practices.
Nice to Have
- Relevant industry certifications such as Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) or Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP).
- Previous experience in healthcare, oncology research, or the non-profit sector.
