Milestone is hiring a Senior HR Generalist

About the Role

Shape HR strategy and support diverse teams as a Senior HR Generalist in a fully remote role. You’ll partner with internal leaders and external clients to strengthen HR practices across the employee journey—from onboarding to offboarding, performance management to policy development.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead onboarding and separation processes, ensuring smooth transitions for team members
  • Keep employee records and HR documentation accurate and up to date
  • Update employee handbooks and help design workplace policies that reflect business objectives
  • Advise managers and staff on HR matters, offering practical solutions and clear guidance
  • Ensure adherence to federal and state employment laws, including FMLA and leave management
  • Support benefits administration, payroll updates, and performance review coordination
  • Conduct impartial workplace investigations and prepare detailed findings when necessary
  • Manage system updates related to staffing changes, promotions, and employment status

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in human resources
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, compliance standards, and employment regulations
  • Excellent communication skills with a service-oriented, consultative approach
  • Proven ability to solve complex issues and follow through to resolution
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Nice to Have

  • Background working with multi-state organizations or clients
  • Professional HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP
