Reddit is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Unified Embeddings Platform team. You will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and maintaining the platform that provides foundational machine learning embeddings for all product verticals. This role partners closely with infrastructure and ML teams to empower machine learning engineers and data scientists.
What You'll Do
- Lead the creation of foundational embeddings leveraging state-of-the-art architectures like graph neural networks and transformer models.
- Design and evolve Reddit’s Embeddings platform, enabling all ML teams to access, store, and share embeddings.
- Drive high-impact, high-leverage projects aligned with broader engineering and business goals.
- Build and grow a high-performing team through hiring, mentoring, and fostering technical excellence.
- Establish best practices for the production, consumption, and governance of machine learning features.
- Serve as a thought partner to product and upper management to align team plans with company objectives.
- Communicate your team’s work and set expectations with cross-functional stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of experience in people management.
- 8+ years of work experience in a production software development environment.
- A strong focus on scalability, reliability, performance, and ease of use.
- Experience working on large-scale ML systems serving hundreds of millions of users.
- Experience building self-service platforms for the storage and sharing of large-scale data and embeddings.
- Experience leading modeling teams that create foundational embeddings based on state-of-the-art architectures.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Team & Environment
You will lead the Embeddings Platform Team within the broader Machine Learning Platform organization.

- Compensation: $266,000 - $372,400 USD + equity in the form of restricted stock units.
