Power Factors is hiring a Senior Engineer, Linux System/DevOps to ensure the reliability and performance of our internal and external systems. You will use open source, SaaS, and internally developed tools to manage the entire service lifecycle—from deployment and configuration to monitoring and optimization. We are an agile software development company, big enough to make an impact but small enough to move quickly in a growing industry.
What You'll Do
- Maintain live services by monitoring key performance indicators like availability, throughput, and latency.
- Advocate for changes that improve reliability, performance, and serviceability.
- Collaborate with development teams to design and deploy new services using containers, packages, cloud, and on-prem infrastructure.
- Develop production flows and continuous delivery pipelines.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of experience with Linux, including the CLI, scripting, tools, and services.
- Strong skills with RHEL variants such as CentOS, ALMA, and Rocky.
- Advanced IP networking skills (routers, switches, DHCP, DNS, routing, NAT, VPN, VLAN, proxies).
- Experience with bare metal servers (HPE, iLO, IPMI).
- Proficiency with Ansible for configuration management.
- Knowledge of storage technologies: RAID, LVM, SAN.
- Strong scripting abilities in Bash and Python.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field.
- 3+ years operating Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with virtualization using KVM, QEMU, and libVirt.
- Skill with monitoring tools like Zabbix, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Understanding of IT security standards (ISO27001) and authentication/access systems (LDAP, PKI).
- Database administration experience with Postgres, Cassandra, and Redis.
- Experience deploying applications in Java, Go, or Python.
- Proven ability as a team player who is self-directed.
Nice to Have
- Certifications such as LFCS, LFCE, RHCSA, or RHCE.
- Familiarity with SRE practices.
- Remote work experience.
- Cloud platform experience with GCP or AWS.
- Strong documentation habits.
- A systematic approach to troubleshooting to root cause.
- A preference for standardization over quick fixes.
- An openness to new tools and steep learning curves.
